Rachel has set off on a 1,300 mile mission across Europe to deliver an ambulance filled with humanitarian supplies destined for the Ukrainian front line. She departed at 6am on a journey that will see her eventually deliver the ambulance to Ukrainians at the Poland-Ukraine border.

The ambulance is the 50th to be delivered as part of a massive fundraising effort by LKQ Euro Car Parts – a major employer whose headquarters is based in Birch Coppice in North Warwickshire and Bedworth.

In total, LKQ has delivered more than 200 tonnes of supplies since the outbreak of war in 2022, as well as 51 ambulances, tens-of-thousands-of-pounds-worth of prescription medicine, and over 1,000 individually tailored Christmas gifts to Ukrainian children across nine cities.

Speaking ahead of the trip, Rachel said:

I was honoured to be asked by a fantastic local business to drive one of these ambulances to the Ukrainian border. It’s one thing to see the generosity and determination in our community, but it’s another to be part of it first-hand.

The compassion shown by the LKQ team, supported by people across North Warwickshire and Bedworth, is a reminder of the exceptional things our community continue to do to support our Ukrainian friends in their fight for freedom.
