Rachel got out on her bike recently for the Big Bicycle Bash at Miners’ Welfare Park in Bedworth. She got it checked over by the Warwickshire County Council Active Travel Team while she watched the next generation of BMX stars on the pump track. She said it was incredible seeing what some of those young people could do. Next year’s event will be bigger and better with the new Bedworth Physical Activity Hub open.
She also joined James for a ride up to Hawkesbury Junction. They discussed how to make the cycle route more accessible for all users, something she raised with the Council afterwards.
Walking and cycling are a great way to improve mental and physical health, and an environmentally friendly way to travel. The new crossing into the park from the town centre is already a hit and she keen to build on these improvements.
