The Armed Forces Covenant
I am very grateful to all of our armed forces personnel and veterans for all of the work they do for our country. People bravely face challenges whilst serving in our military – but unfortunately this struggle may not end once back home. While it is not universal, service can leave impacts on our forces, personnel and their families in not just physical and mental terms – sometimes in less apparent ways; finances and social wellbeing for instance can become challenging during a relocation. Thankfully, the Armed Forces Covenant helps to address these challenges our armed forces community may face when accessing public services.
There are some organisations you can be sure will follow the covenant such as those in housing, healthcare and education. Although other bodies are not legally compelled, many have opted in to show they support our armed forces community. You can find out more about the Armed Forces Covenant here.
