Rachel Taylor MP Rachel Taylor Labour MP for North Warwickshire and Bedworth

Rachel has called for the council to take action on the Brittania Mill Works site in Atherstone, which continues to pose a safety hazard and cause major disruption for residents.
The site has lain derelict for years, but recent storm damage caused parts of the building to collapse, leading to safety concerns. For several weeks temporary traffic lights and barriers next to the site have blocked part of the Coleshill Road, causing major disruption.
Rachel has been in contact with the council by email, phone and in her regular meetings to bring an end to the disruption, and continues to express frustration about the slow pace of action. She is calling for the site to be turned into desperately-needed social and affordable housing from local residents.
The MP has expressed particular dissatisfaction at having been told the roadworks would be removed in mid-February, but as of 21 February they remain in place and the disruption continues. She has vowed to continuing to pressure the council until the situation has been resolved, and is pleased to have had it confirmed that the council will be billing the developers for the cost of the traffic measures.
