Rachel discussing flooding issues with Severn Trent engineers and a resident
Last year, residents in the Spon Lane area of Grendon contacted Rachel about repeated sewage overflows — with waste spilling into their gardens and, in some cases, their homes.
To help get answers, she arranged for Severn Trent to visit Spon Lane and hear directly from residents about their experiences and the urgent need for action.
Since then, Severn Trent has:
  • Installed a non-return valve where the brook meets the sewage network.
  • Installed a new pump and tanks behind the Field Brook Farm site to manage excess rainwater.
  •  Continued work to address the risk of the brook bursting its banks during heavy rainfall.

Rachel is keeping up the pressure to ensure proper solutions are delivered.
