Rachel was really excited to visit Keresley Newland Primary School. Their new nursery opened in September with funding from the government. Along with the rollout of 30 hours of free childcare the school nursery is a massive boost for local parents.
It was inspiring to hear from headteacher Mrs Penlington about how the school has been taken from ‘special measures’ to ‘good’ ratings. Great work from teachers, parents and the community working together.
The school’s passion for reading is clear with book themed areas and a fantastic library. The Chancellor has made funding available for every state primary school in England to have a library by the end of this parliament – great news to ensure children have the best start in life.
