Rachel has held two public meetings at Kingsbury School and Nicholas Chamberlaine School to discuss the government’s proposed changes to the SEND system with parents and teaching staff.
The government is investing billions to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities including £200 million to train teachers, £3.7 billion to create over 60,000 more specialist places and £1.8 billion to create our new ‘Experts at Hand’ service to bring education and health professionals into schools.
Speaking after the events, Rachel said:
“I want to thank everyone who took part in these events, they were really useful to understand your views. Delivering change in the SEND system to ensure it delivers for families and SEND children is one of my biggest priorities as an MP, so I’m pleased at the positive response these reforms have had and will be sharing all your feedback with the government.”
