Rachel has secured a major expansion of HS2’s window and car washing service, with the number of properties in Water Orton benefiting increasing from 37 to 175.
HS2 already provide a monthly window and car cleaning service to a limited number of homes close to the works that are impacted by dust and dirt, but residents told Rachel the scope of the service was too limited. Following HS2 Chief Executive Mark Wild’s visit to Water Orton’s Spud Club, and Rachel’s subsequent meeting with him in Parliament in June to discuss progress on the issues raised, HS2 have now confirmed that they will expand their window and car cleaning scheme.
The expanded scheme is expected to begin in July. HS2 will contact the relevant residents in these properties by the beginning of July, and Rachel will also be writing to all the properties now included in the scheme. If you’re not sure if your home is included, please do get in touch with Rachel’s office.

“This is a welcome step for the properties around the HS2 works that continue to be severely impacted by dust. I’m really pleased to have secured this major expansion of the subsidised window and car washing scheme, and I will continue to push HS2 to ensure the scheme works properly and reaches the residents who need it.”
