Rachel has welcomed the news that Bedworth Rugby Club has secured a £15,000 grant from the Sport England Movement Fund to install new floodlights, following her support for the club’s successful funding bid.
The club’s Chairman first raised the project with Rachel at one of her constituency surgeries, where they discussed plans to improve the club’s facilities. Having seen the important role the club plays in supporting young people, families and grassroots sport, Rachel provided a letter of endorsement to strengthen the application. The grant has now enabled the club to reach its fundraising target, with the new floodlights set to extend playing opportunities throughout the year.
Earlier this year, Rachel visited the club to meet members of the Tots, Mixed Under-12s and Junior Under-13s teams, seeing first-hand the enthusiasm, dedication and community spirit that make Bedworth Rugby Club such a valued local institution. She congratulated Chairman Stuart and everyone involved in securing the funding, and said she looks forward to returning to see the new floodlights in action.
