Old Meeting URC has a long standing lunch club every Friday – but did you know that the first Friday of the month is their Repair Cafe? Their talented volunteers are on hand to fix anything, from rocking horses to radios, trousers to TV stands, and if they can’t fix it, they probably know someone who can. Rachel took her favourite rucksack along with its broken strap and they have done a lovely job – it’s as good as new.
Not only is repairing things cheaper, it’s better for the environment and can give something you love a new lease of life. And while you are there treat yourself to lunch, just £1.50 for homemade soup and a roll.
