The White Hart Community Centre in Atherstone is a real asset with lots of local groups operating from the building. Rachel popped down to visit their Community Fridge & Social Space.
Food from Aldi, Lidl, and Tesco is sold at reduced price that would otherwise go to landfill, as well as fresh food from the volunteers allotment. Nothing is wasted. Rachel enjoyed some delicious banana bread made from last week’s bananas! They also partner with Blue Cross to provide pet food.
There was a real buzz and friendly atmosphere around the hub and they were keen to talk about their turkey run through the town. It’s a great meeting space with a room to hire too. The Community Fridge and social hub runs on Tuesday & Thursday mornings, 10.30am-12.30pm if you want to pop down!
