The Labour Party’s Five Missions for a Better Britain

Representing the Labour Party I support Keir Starmer’s Five Missions for Getting Britain’s Future Back. So here’s how I’ll ensure the Labour Party plan can help our community here in North Warwickshire & Bedworth:

We need to be realistic – we need new homes. I will champion homebuilding which is fair, benefits and enriches our community and safeguards access to our green spaces. We need to reduce the red tape in the planning system. For me, as our community grows it makes the case even stronger for maintaining vital community services like our leisure centres, health services, schools and community spaces.

Increasing the energy we generate in the UK means we’re less reliant on overseas energy. We’ve seen how international problems affect the price we pay, so we need to increase the energy we control and generate in the UK. Producing our own energy should provide massive payback in new skilled jobs and economic opportunities, as well as costing us a bit less to heat our homes and power our cars.

I support investment in the NHS and listening to our doctors, nurses, dentists and healthcare workers to ensure we get the best services we critically need. I would champion new ideas, like using vacant units on our high streets to offer health services, as well as ensuring leisure services are protected so more people stay fit and well which is the best medicine to reduce the risk of acquired healthcare conditions.

More than half of residents I have spoken to are worried about crime and anti-social behaviour on their doorstep and the response simply isn’t good enough. I will fight for stronger policing, patrols in our town centres, tougher action against shoplifting and violent crime and better solutions to rid our countryside of the blight of fly tipping and theft from hard working farmers.

I feel privileged to have enjoyed opportunities through studying at University and progressing my career, but I know many still miss out due to inequality. I will champion and support the work done in our schools and colleges to enable young people to get on and tap into the wealth of opportunities that are on our doorstep through big employers like Aldi, FedEx, Ocado, Bristan, BMW and others who recognise the hard-working talent available in our community.

Under Labour everything will be fully funded and costed to make sure there is no repeat of the Conservative economic chaos of the last few year
